Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat)

Khao Yai is located in Nakhon Ratchasima, also known as Korat, approximately 200 km northeast of Bangkok. Korat is often referred to as the 'gateway' to Isaan, the northeastern region of Thailand.

Getting to Khao Yai Convention Center / Greenery Resort Khao Yai:

1. By car/taxi  

Since there are no operational airports in Korat, participants will need to travel by road from Bangkok to the conference venue, Khao Yai Convention Center (KYCC) / Greenery Resort Khao Yai. 

  • Organized by the conference committee
    The conference organizer provides transportation by bus between airports and the conference venue in Khao Yai at an extra cost of 500 THB per person for a one-way trip and 1,000 THB per person for a round trip.

  • Private taxi company
    Alternatively, participants can take a taxi from the airport to Khao Yai, which costs approximately 70-80 USD one way. It is advisable to use a taxi service that provides receipts and allows for advance booking, such as Amptaxi Service.

    Note: When traveling by taxi, please be aware that drivers may speak little English. Having a map or the destination written in Thai can be very helpful.
2. By public transportation
  • By minivan service
    Depart from the Mochit 2 Bus Terminal. Go to the Phaya Thai Island at Platform 4 / Table 78 and find the The-Wa-Da van queue (คิวรถตู้ชื่อ เท-วา-ดา). 
    The ticket price is 160 baht (subject to change), with the journey taking around 3 hours. Please inform the van driver to drop you off at Greenery Resort Khao Yai. Otherwise, the van stops at Pak Chong’s The-Wa-Da Market (ตลาดเท-วา-ดา).

  • By train
    Board the train (Northeastern Line) at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station (สถานีกลางกรุงเทพอภิวัฒน์, formerly known as Bang Sue Grand Station, สถานีกลางบางซื่อ) in Bangkok and travel to Pak Chong (ปากช่อง).

    After arriving at Pak Chong, you have the option of taking the Pak Chong-Khao Yai Songthaew (shared truck, รถสองแถว), renting a motorcycle, or renting a car. More information is provided below. 


     
  • By air-conditioned bus (coach)
    Depart from the Mochit Bus Terminal. Upon arriving at Mochit Bus Terminal, proceed to the 3rd floor (Northeastern route) to ticket counters 25, 41, or 49. The bus will take you to the Pak Chong Bus Terminal, with the journey taking approximately 3 hours. 
    The ticket price is 133 baht (subject to change). 
    First departure: 5:30 AM / Last departure: 6:30 PM (buses depart every hour).
    After arriving at Pak Chong, you have the option of taking the Pak Chong-Khao Yai Songthaew (shared truck, รถสองแถว), renting a motorcycle, or renting a car. More information is provided below. 

    Once the train or bus arrives at Pak Chong, you will need to continue your journey to Khao Yai (เขาใหญ่).
     

  • Pak Chong-Khao Yai Songthaew (Shared Truck, รถสองแถว)
    Traveling by songthaew (shared truck) is a budget-friendly option. After getting off the train, walk straight until the end of the road, turn left, and continue for about 200 meters. Walk a bit further into Pak Chong town, which takes about 10 minutes in total, and you will find the Pak Chong-Khao Yai songthaew. It is a blue six-wheeled vehicle. 
    The songthaew fare from Pak Chong to Khao Yai is around 40 baht (subject to change). It runs daily from approximately 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with each vehicle departing every 20 minutes. Please inform the driver to drop you off at Greenery Resort Khao Yai.   
    Alternatively, you can take a motorcycle taxi from in front of the Pak Chong station.

  • Motorcycle Rental
    For those who enjoy a breezy ride through nature, renting a motorcycle can be an interesting option. You can find motorcycle rentals at the Pak Chong market. However, the road up and down the mountain requires caution. Anyone considering renting a motorcycle should be confident in their ability to handle the route or be familiar with it. The rental price is about 300-500 baht per day. 
     

  • Car Rental
    Renting a car is suitable for groups, offering convenience and comfort. Car rentals are available in the Pak Chong market area. However, you should learn the proper way to drive uphill to avoid accidents. The rental price is approximately 1,200-1,500 baht per day.
